Square, Circle, Triangle

In the early 1960s, Italian designer Bruno Munari published a series of visual case studies dedicated to fundamental geometric forms: Circle, Square, and, a decade later, Triangle. Drawing on examples from ancient Greece and Egypt as well as works by Buckminster Fuller, Le Corbusier, and Alvar Aalto, Munari explores the symbolic and functional qualities of these shapes. The circle evokes the divine, the square suggests safety and enclosure, and the triangle acts as a dynamic connective form.
