Dwaze Verrukking | Foolish Delight

Foolish Delight is a monograph of one of the first female digital and internet artists in the Netherlands. Det Digit (1935-2024) combined technology and art to explore themes of chaos, structure, nature and technology and artificial intelligence. Looking through Det Digit’s eyes we realize that the wonder and excitement of the early internet are still relevant today in our dealings with digital media, and the struggle for open technology. Her work includes interactions with global Internet pioneers and scientists, leading to innovative digital and spatial creations, such as one of the Netherlands’ first artists-Bulletin Board Systems (1992) and the digital book The Harvestmen Utopia (2022).
